Seed Daily Synbiotic Review: Great Daily Driver

Seed Daily Synbiotic

I’ve personally tried many of the most popular probiotic brands and this post covers the Seed daily synbiotic. I discuss the logic behind the product, value, formulation, and my experience with the product.

Seed Daily Synbiotic

If you are looking for a general “daily driver” probiotic the Seed DS-01 Daily Synbiotic is a great product to look into.

I think it provides a nice balance between being a science and research-based product while not being as much of a drain on your wallet and convenience compared to some of the other brands.

The main competitors here in terms of science-based probiotics would probably be the Visbiome GI Care probiotic and the Pendulum Life probiotics but these both have more specific goals like treating medical ailments or managing blood sugar and cost more.

Logic:

Again, like Visbiome this is a well-studied probiotic supplement. You can view some of the science on the product itself as well as some of the strain-specific studies on their page here.

However, I do view this as more of a general “daily driver” product for those wanting a baseline healthier gut and body overall.

I’ve talked about this in some of my other reviews but if you don’t get benefits from a probiotic targeted towards something like blood sugar management or a higher strength medical grade product then it’s probably not worth taking it – both in terms of money and overall health.

There’s no point in taking something stronger if you don’t need it – so this is where Seed comes in. It’s right on the cusp of being scientific but also convenient enough for a much wider range of people to use and benefit from.

Synbiotic

Seed markets their product as a “synbiotic” – so what even is a synbiotic? A synbiotic is a combination of probiotics and prebiotics.

This is helpful because you not only need to introduce beneficial microbes but also feed them with things like fibers. Seed for example uses organic rice fibers.

The average Western diet isn’t exactly full of diverse organic plants rich in different types of fiber so having a baseline sort of “fail safe” where you’re always feeding the probiotics is useful.

Value:

If you want to purchase this product at the best value you can get up to 6 months in bulk which would cost $42.49 with free US shipping.

This is cheaper than something like the Visbiome probiotic which comes in at around $58 per month with a 4-month bulk order and especially cheaper than something like the Pendulum Life line of products.

So Seed does seem to be the winner in terms of pricing especially if you’re buying in bulk.

Both of these prices are based on taking 2 capsules daily which is what both brands recommend.

My Experience:

Similar to my use with the Visbiome GI Care probiotic I’ve used the Seed DS-01 Daily Synbiotic on and off over the past year and a half – consistently enough to have an informed opinion on it.

Of course, with something like a probiotic you aren’t going to be aware of every potential benefit or impact the product has on you because it’s just too hard to tell. Placebo is also something to be aware of.

With that said, I’ve experienced the benefits of this probiotic and feel better overall. Again it’s hard to give an objective take but things like skin being clearer, less bloating and more consistent bowel movements, less allergy symptoms.

Overall a big improvement especially for someone like me who grew up on constant antibiotics, unhealthy foods, etc. I can eat anything and feel fine with this supplement – without it? Not so much.

In terms of comparing this to the Visbiome GI care product, I will say that the Visbiome product made my bowel movements more consistent although the difference is slight.

If you struggle with things like bowel movements, bloating, and gut motility – maybe try out the Visbiome first.

If you are just interested in gut health and health optimization in general – maybe try out the Seed DS-01 first.

Taste

The taste is worse than the Visbiome capsules but again it’s just a capsule. It’s not overbearing either, the best way to describe it is that it’s just an aftertaste of “soil”.

I’ve had probiotics which were a chewable formation that tasted awful – being able to consistently do something is a big part of a product’s overall efficacy.

This product is fine to use consistently in terms of taste.

Convenience

Seed claims you don’t have to refrigerate these products due to their unique technology. Compared to some competitors such as Visbiome for example – requires refrigeration while Pendulum Life has similar techniques and processes that don’t require refrigeration but they still recommend it.

This is nice though – imagine you buy 3 months of the product and are moving or want to travel or anything in between. You don’t want to have to repurchase or worry about lost efficacy due to the product being at room temperature.

I had an experience with Visbiome where my product arrived hot (they include a temperature monitor) and while their customer service was great and sent a new order right out for free – it’s just an overall thing to think about in terms of efficiency and time spent.

Final Thoughts:

Overall my thoughts are pretty much in line with what I noted in my general experience. If you are looking for a more general health optimization-based product I would recommend this.

If you want to target things like a medical ailment maybe look into the Visbiome line of products or for example, Pendulum Life has a line dedicated towards glucose management (which I’ll be testing soon with blood markers).

At the end of the day, everyone is going to have a varied experience with specific products based on their microbiomes – my results aren’t indicative of what you may experience so I urge you to maybe take general ideas from what I’ve said but also experiment for yourself and your needs.

Either way – thank you for reading/viewing/listening – I hope you got some value or idea on what to do or try from this.
